The big difference between AquaAdvantage Salmon and Domesticated salmon is that the AquaAdvantage salmon are genetically modified. In terms of whether this is the next technological step in sustaining the demand for salmon meat is a highly controversial argument. I myself do not agree that this is essential. I believe that if we were to just farm salmon without touching the genetics in order to improve the size or life of the fish it would also mean that the price of the fish will increase causing less of a demand due to its price which allows for the species to be more sustainably farmed.
