I chose the hashtag #SeaFarm because of the part in the novel where Bailey explained that humans demand for seafood has exceeded what the ocean can supply. He said one of the solutions could be to “transform the Earth’s seas from hunting grounds to marine farms”(19). I think this is an insight into what may happen if we continue the way we have been and further the GMO efforts as well as farming our fish. I think everyone needs to not only learn to eat their seafood in moderation, but also understand where their seafood is coming from and what types of impacts that may have. One example could be the human rights issues in Thailand fishing sectors. We should also be conscious of the types of seafood we eat as some could have much more of an impact than others.
