When thinking of how healthy the Global Fish Stocks are today, I would rate it being a 6. My reason to this is because generally when I think of the different types of species in the World and how their environments are, I think of how the environments are declining. A perfect example, I think, is how our Great Barrier Reef is deteriorating. Issues like this lead to unhealthy fish stocks because with the homes of fish disappearing, so could our fish. When the habitat of these species decline, they no longer have the protection to keep them alive and healthy.

I agree with you that recent changes in habitat have had a negative effect on fish stocks. It makes sense that as a species’ habitat degrades, then the population will also decrease because they wont be able to withstand major changes. With climate change and warming oceans becoming more prevalent, it seems that fish stock health will continue to decline.
